Kohli’s leadership

Kohli’s leadership

KARACHI:

The captain of the Indian cricket team is followed more than the Prime Minister of the country. Virat Kohli might have stepped down as the captain of the Test side but he will go down in history as one of the finest Indian captains. His record as a captain speaks volumes of his stature and of his ability to lead the side. Winning 40 out of 68 Test matches is a great testament to his caliber and class. He gave a new dimension to the team’s culture and with his aggressive mentality on and off the field, he made the team a real fighting unit.

He is largely credited with transforming the side, taking them to the pinnacle of success. He still has a long way to go as a batsman and one feels that he will have more glories on the way. It is said that you should “never overstay your welcome”. So perhaps it was the right time for him to handover the job to someone else with grace and dignity.
