KARACHI:
There is an urgent need to address the dengue outbreak in Turbat town of Balochistan and its surrounding areas. The increasing number of positive dengue cases each day is deeply concerning and requires immediate attention. Lack of proper facilities and overwhelmed healthcare centres are causing immense problems to the affected population.
I, therefore, call upon the relevant authorities to take serious steps for provision of all the required facilities and resources — including funds and medical and paramedical staff — for containing the dengue outbreak. There is also the need to raise awareness through mainstream and social media about how to prevent contracting the lethal virus.
Furthers, we, as responsible citizens, should also play our role in supplementing the efforts of the government in the containment of the virus causing dengue fever.
