No equal treatment

No equal treatment

KARACHI:

While Labour Day is a gesture to appreciate the hard work of labourers, merely marking the day by organising events and staging rallies is not enough. There are many challenges that labourers in Pakistan face, including poor working conditions, low wages and a lack of job security.

The government has a responsibility to help labourers overcome these problems. It must take steps to improve the lives of labourers, such as increasing the minimum wage, ensuring safe and healthy working conditions and ensure benefits like health insurance and pensions. These measures would not only help labourers personally but would also contribute to a more prosperous and equitable society.

We, as a nation, should also support labourers and ensure that they are treated fairly and justly. Only then can we truly honour the contributions that the labour class makes to our society.
