A note from Larkano

KARACHI:

Lawlessness is widespread in our part of the world. Since lawlessness reigns, people love to become lawless because to be lawless in a lawless society is to be happy and free. Unlike in the past, there is a sharp polarisation in society nowadays on ethnic, sectarian and tribal lines and also on the basis of caste.

Life of the common man in our country is not easy. On the contrary, the life and style of authority figures is beyond description. And there is no law to hold them accountable. How can such a society advance where there is absolute lawlessness? I hope that this time around my observations — my first-hand knowledge about my Larkano — will not go unheeded and the incumbents will make genuine efforts to improve the quality of life of the residents of Larkana and other parts of the province.
