Five of a family killed, minor injured in accident on M4 motorway

At least five people, including a woman, were killed, whereas a minor was injured in an accident on the M4 motorway on Sunday.

The family, belonging to Layyah, was on its way back from the airport when their car collided with a tractor on the motorway in Gojra.

The bodies of the deceased and the injured eight-year-old were shifted to the hospital by rescue workers.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar also expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and demanded a report from the administration.

The chief minister said the child should be provided the best medical facilities.

Further investigation into the incident is underway.

On September 17, a man driving his car at high speed hit and crushed a family going on a motorcycle, leaving the biker dead, his wife and minor son seriously injured.

The suspect, after knocking down the victims, fired aerial shots to intimidate people who were rushing to the accident site to catch him.

However, he could not go far. Emergency calls to police alerted Saddar police station SHO Malik Allah Yar who was on patrol near the crime scene. His squad chased the said vehicle and caught the suspect identified as Saqlain Waheed.
