Mob severs an arm and nose of two robbers 

Accused were trying to flee after injuring shopkeeper

MUZAFFARGARH:

A mob chopped off an arm and nose of two robbers attempting to flee after a foiled robbery bid in Shehr Sultan police station limits on Thursday.

Police said three armed robbers went to a shop owned by Muhammad Arshad at Esan Wali Bridge in Colourwali area to loot him off valuables.

Sources said that when the shopkeeper resisted the robbery, the dacoits injured him and tried to escape. However, relatives of Arshad chased and caught them.

A mob then snatched an axe from the suspected dacoits and chopped off the arm of one of them and nose of another, eyewitnesses revealed.

A police spokesperson confirmed that District Police Officer (DPO) Hassan Iqbal and Shehr Sultan police officials arrived on the scene and took the wounded dacoits into the custody.

Later, Rescue 1122 officials shifted the injured shop owner and robbers to hospital after providing them first aid. The condition of injured dacoits was stated to be critical.

On an application submitted by the injured shopkeeper, the police have registered a case against the three accused.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar took notice of the incident and sought a report from Dera Ghazi Khan Regional Police Officer (RPO) Faisal Rana.

He directed the police to take action against those responsible in accordance with the law.
