The very chic Amal Qadri, fashion and personal stylist, spills style secrets to help perfect your look. Read what the fashionista has to muse about things that get her picking.

Understanding your body is the key to looking good and a trait found amongst all impeccably dressed fashionistas. While people shy away from talking about their bodies, these brave souls explain how they work their anatomies to their advantage

How would you describe your body type?

I’m a pear shaped, slightly heavier on the lower than the rest of my body.

Has your body type changed over the last five years?

I love to eat so the only way I can stop gaining weight is to workout. I tend to go for target training which only targets my lower body to stay toned.

How has your style changed over the years?

I have become more aware of what looks good on me and what doesn’t so I like to experiment with my style accordingly. People say I can pull off any kind of trend and style but really, it’s not true.

In your opinion what is your most troublesome area?

My hips, but I’ve learned to accept it.

How do you dress your body according to your body type?

I avoid wearing anything that makes my legs look short. Meaning, I try to wear solid colours and crazy prints but make sure that it’s a one piece or high waisted. I love wearing dresses, suits, jackets and jumpsuits.

In your opinion what is the biggest mistake a person can make while dressing here?

People tend to follow trends without realising whether or not it suits their personality and body type. However, I’m a true believer that if it’s something you want to wear and you feel good in it, then you should. Confidence is one of the main keys to make anyone look good.

Which silhouettes suit your body the most?

A-line cuts looks great on me.

What is the one piece of clothing that you shy away from wearing and why?

I hardly shy away from anything. I just make sure the silhouette is cut in a way that it accentuates my body.
