Popular actors Nadia Jamil and Adnan Siddiqui have urged the media to spread awareness against sexual misconduct whilst asking Prime Minister Imran Khan to take strict action against rapists and pedophiles in light of recent cases of sexual abuse.

Taking to her Twitter, Jamil informed her followers about another 10-year-old being raped in Karachi. “Yesterday, another little 10-year-old girl was raped,” she shared on Wednesday. “I appeal to the media of Pakistan to spread awareness campaigns. We need to construct a one-minute public service messages and spread it on radio, TV and print. The threat of rape exists in seminaries, on streets and inside homes,” she wrote, tagging Khan in her post.

Siddiqui also expressed his disgust over a rape case that emerged recently, but he did not specify which one. Taking to the micro-blogging site, the Meray Paas Tum Ho actor wrote, “Absolutely no mercy for this depraved creature. He deserves to burn in Hell! I am feeling sick to the stomach thinking about the sicko’s perversity.” He then tagged the PM asking him to ensure a speedy trial so justice can be served. “Imran Khan, please ensure a speedy trial for swift justice to survivors. #StopRape,” Siddiqui concluded

Two days ago, a man raped a 10-year-old girl in Karachi’s Essa Nagri, her mother told a local news outlet. The girl was raped by her teacher’s brother at the tuition center she attended. In protest, an angry mob attacked the suspect’s residence, in the process of which they blocked the main road leading to a police intervention. The report claimed that the girl’s father had asked for an investigation against the teacher, provided that the crime took place at his residence. The police have registered a case and arrested the suspect.

In another tweet, while reacting to the news of Germany busting international child pornography site containing 400,000 subscribers, Jamil added, “What a sick world we live in. If only we could also crackdown child prostitution rings in Pakistan.” She went on to add, “We should be swooping on them like eagles. @MukarramKaleem tried exposing them in a show. But we need huge movements to get the @GovtofPakistan to act firmly and consistently.”
