KARACHI:

A local court sent on Thursday a man allegedly involved in the abduction of a woman and her son to jail on judicial remand.

The hearing of the case was held before the West judicial magistrate at the Karachi City Court.

The court sent the accused, Aijaz, to jail on a judicial remand. The police had arrested the suspect from Swabi and produced him before the court.

The court sought a progress report from the police at the next hearing. A case against the suspect was registered in Orangi Town police station.

Extension sought

A local court on Thursday adjourned the hearing of the Digitonics Company case till June 24 after the Federal Investigation Agency investigation officer sought more time to complete his inquiry.

East Judicial Magistrate Mukesh Kumar was hearing the case at the Karachi City Court.

The software company was allegedly involved in defrauding foreigners and putting national integrity at stake.

Jail officials produced company CEO Burhan Mirza, Omais Rohail, Ghayyas Ghazali, Kumail Raza, Danish Zaman and Muneeb Ali before the court.

The suspects were then released on bail. The failure to submit bail documents drew the ire of the court.

“On the first day, we had directed them to submit the documents for bail. The court does not have any record.

Submit the documents for bail now otherwise you will be sent behind bars with the rest of the suspects,” judicial magistrate Mukesh Kumar remarked.

The FIA investigation officer sought more time for completing the investigations. The court accepted the request and adjourned the hearing.
