After face masks became our favourite accessory since the pandemic began, we have almost forgotten the art of applying a full face of make-up on a daily basis. Following the increased use of masks, most of us have experienced and suffered from mask-acne.

This fall we are aiming for a make-up look that helps cover those blemishes in the most natural way. If there’s one thing you’re going to have in your make-up bag, it probably should be a concealer. Whether it’s spots, eye bags, hyperpigmentation or redness, a great concealer applied correctly can leave the skin looking even. You can use it to highlight, conceal dark circles, and reduce redness with the right one. For an everyday look, just keep it simple with just concealer and a few swipes of mascara and you’re done. What’s easier than that?

Here is a list of all our favourite concealers to help with your problem areas:

Mac Pro Longwear

A favourite amongst make-up artists, this medium- to full-coverage product has gotten the strength to conceal and cover. This product has a natural matte finish but still feels super lightweight on the skin because of its fluid texture. You can blend it effortlessly with your fingertips. Whether you need it to erase fatigue or mask an unexpected spot, it does so while staying in place all day. Did we mention that it is transfer-proof? When tested on a hot day or under a mask this concealer did not budge!

Fenty Beauty bright fix eye brightener

If you don’t want multiple contrasting colours to neutralise imperfections in the skin, try Fenty Beauty bright fix eye brightener. This concealer works in the same way, erasing discolouration with a hydrating, light texture. Use sparingly for the best results, on its own for a natural look, or as a base with a formula that matches your skin tone layered over for serious dark circles. If you’re looking to cover the acne marks, try putting it under your foundation.

Too Faced Born This Way Multi-use Sculpting Concealer

Just as the name suggests, this is much more than a generous concealer and can be used for contouring and highlighting too. It’s full coverage that still manages to look natural and dewy even on a dry skin type, thanks to the hydrating hyaluronic acid formulation. It erases signs of discolouration including pigmentation and redness and will be your best friend when unexpected breakouts occur. It feels surprisingly weightless for such heavy coverage and doesn’t even melt off on a hot summer day.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

If you’re looking for complete coverage with a light texture, try NARS. They even have a number of shades to colour correct acne or acne marks. With its hydrating ingredients and light-diffusing technology, it’s our go-to concealer for natural-looking buildable coverage.

Clinique Acne Solutions Clearing Concealer

What’s better than a concealer that fully covers? A concealer that cures acne. Clinique’s acne concealer formula contains salicylic acid to treat and prevent acne by helping unclog pores. It also has a green tint to help cover redness and is also phthalate, paraben, and is fragrance-free. This concealer will not clog your pores or irritate your skin.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid

When you’ve got a red angry pimple, this is an excellent pick for neutralising the redness. It contains vitamins C and E, which condition and helps in diminishing the dark acne marks. All you have to do is apply this first followed by a foundation. You won’t have to use a dense concealer on top. Even non-comedogenic products can clog pores if they’re thick, so it’s important not to glob them on too heavily.
