Youth educated about election process

ABBOTTABAD:

Following the directives of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), various seminars, workshops and speech contests were held on Thursday at various schools and colleges of Abbottabad to raise awareness about the election process amongst youth.

According to a statement, the awareness campaign was started once again after the completion of local government elections in the district.

A seminar was organised at the Abbottabad Government Post Graduate College, where the district election commissioner informed the participants about the constitutional role of the ECP, the electoral process, preparation of voter lists and setting up polling stations, the statement read. He also highlighted the importance of developing an understanding of the process among voters to make informed choices.

It further stated that the district election officer highlighted the efforts of the ECP and answered the student's questions about the electoral process.
