Former international snooker player commits ‘suicide’

Deceased had been battling ailment for two months

At least three people took their own lives during the Eid holidays I’m Sammundri and adjoining areas.

One of the deceased was a talented 25-year-old international snooker player residing in the Zia Market area who ended his life on the Eid day.

Sources close to the deceased revealed that he had been battling severe depression for two months.

He had represented Pakistan in the Asian Snooker Tournament held in Iran in 2018.

In another incident, Imran Butt’s 13-year-old son in Ghulam Muhammadabad took his own life after feeling disheartened due to being forbidden from playing games on his mobile phone.

Additionally, 46-year-old Junaid, residing in Nazimabad, who had been undergoing treatment for drug addiction in a private hospital took his own life in a washroom.

Following completion of the legal formalities, police handed over the bodies to the families to commence funeral arrangements.

In a separate incident, a distressed 19-year-old girl named Mamoona, residing in Dhanola, resorted to swallowing sleeping pills following a heated dispute within her family.

She was promptly provided medical assistance and transferred to the Allied Hospital.
