Four victims of Gilgit bus accident buried

Twelve of a family from Liberty Chowk were on board the bus of which four died, eight injured

A family from Hyderabad was also present in the tourist bus which fell off a cliff on a curvy mountainous road in Diamer area of Gilgit.

Four out of six people killed in the horrific accident belonged to the family of FBR Assistant Commissioner Syed Ijaz a resident of Liberty Chowk. The funeral of the four deceased, including three women was held the other day. They were buried at Hayat Baba Graveyard.

The heirs of the deceased have demanded the Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to help transfer the 12 injured belonging to their families to Karachi.

The ill-fated family had gone on a tour of northern areas on a tourist bus. However that bus fell into a ditch on the Karakoram Highway in Thalachi area of Diamer district.

Twelve people from Syed Ijaz's family were on board the ill-fated bus, out of which four were killed and eight were injured. Among the injured are Syed Ijaz's brother Syed Zubair's wife and three young children.

The deceased include 24-year-old Syed Ammar son of Syed Ijaz, his 35-year-old sister-in-law Sadaf Imran, his 55-year-old sister, Samina and her 18-year-old daughter Rabi Farzeen and, wife of late Jamil Raza.
