Telegram's new Stories feature is finally here but for paid premium subscribers only, the company announced in a tweet.

CEO Pavel Durov says the feature will offer more control for users than other apps do.

Resembling Facebook Messenger Stories, the feature will appear as expandable bubbles at the top of the conversation list. Users can choose to allow who can view their Stories, similar to privacy settings on other apps.

Telegram users will be able to share photos and videos captured by the front-facing and the rear cameras simultaneously.

With Stories, users can choose when their Story will expire from 6, 12 or 48 hours, or be permanently displayed on the profile page. Viewers can send reactions and replies to Stories. Only users subscribing to Telegram's premium version and paying $4.99/month can post Stories.
