A fierce dispute has erupted between the district administration and dairy farmers over the sale of milk at the official rate.
Despite persistent efforts to find a resolution, tensions continue to simmer as both parties stick to their guns refusing to budge.
The deputy commissioner has made it clear that any increase in milk prices is contingent upon the submission of a new report by the director general of Livestock Department.
However, the defiant dairy farmers are adamant on selling milk at Rs220 per litre in open defiance of the official price.
The dairy farmers argue that during a meeting with the DG, they presented an estimate of their expenses, carefully considering inflationary pressures.
On the other hand, milk shop owners counter that they cannot reduce milk prices unless the farm owners do the same.
Even after a meeting chaired by DC Hyderabad Fawad Ghaffar Soomro the dispute remains unresolved.
The gathering brought together stakeholders, including Deputy Director Livestock Department Syed Sabir Shah, ADC Qaim Akbar, and representatives from dairy farms and Retailers Milk Vendors Welfare Association, yet failed to produce a breakthrough.
