In a heartwarming display of interfaith harmony and spiritual unity, a group of 107 Pakistani Zaireen (pilgrims) joined the 755th annual Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Khawaja Allauddin Ali Ahmed Sabir (RA) at Kaliyar Sharif, India.

The Pakistan High Commission in India made this announcement in a statement issued on Wednesday, highlighting the significance of this cross-border pilgrimage.

Aizaz Khan, Charge d’ Affaires at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, paid his respects at the revered dargah of the 13th-century Sufi saint, which is celebrated as one of India's most sacred shrines.

As a symbol of goodwill and solidarity, Charge d’ Affaires Aizaz Khan, on behalf of the people and Government of Pakistan, placed a traditional chaddar at the dargah. Following this gesture, he and the visiting Pakistani pilgrims engaged in special prayers, offering their heartfelt supplications for the well-being and prosperity of Pakistan.

Upon their arrival at the dargah, Charge d’ Affaires Aizaz Khan and the Pakistani pilgrims received a warm welcome from Sajjada Nasheen Hazrat Shah Ali Manzar Aijaz Quddusi Sabri, the custodian of the shrine.

Expressing his gratitude, Aizaz Khan extended his thanks to all those who contributed to the warm reception at the shrine, particularly commending the administration for their efforts in facilitating this auspicious visit.

The annual Urs Mubarak, a week-long spiritual event, commenced on September 25 and will continue until October 2, 2023, at Kaliyar Sharif.

This sacred occasion serves as a beacon of spiritual enrichment, drawing devotees from various corners of the world.

The participation of Pakistani Zaireen in the Urs Mubarak exemplifies the deep-rooted tradition of interfaith harmony and people-to-people connections between India and Pakistan. This pilgrimage is conducted under the framework of the 1974 India-Pakistan protocol on visits to religious shrines, fostering a sense of unity and shared spirituality transcending national boundaries.
