DIJKOT:

An anti-corruption team faced resistance while they tried to arrest a clerk on Wednesday.

Four people allegedly alerted the clerk and bought him time to escape the scene. Nishatabad police started searching for the accused while taking action against them.

In-charge anti-corruption Muhammad Younis informed Nishatabad police that himself, Faiz Abbas, Ghulam Mustafa, Kamal Akbar, and Mursalin and Rehan Shaukat went to the accused clerk Akhtar Hussain's house on Motorway City Road. Akhtar was wanted in case number 23/57 crime 468-471 within the limits of police station region Faisalabad.

Meanwhile, Fazal Haider and others allegedly started making noise upon seeing the official vehicle and told Akhtar to run.

When the team came down caught Akhtar, the accused resisted with the anti-corruption employees.

They rescued the clerk and let him escape.

Nishatabad Police registered a case under the provisions of 186-353-212 of the Criminal Code and started searching for the accused.
