Appearing on Express News’ talk show "Expert", moderated by Dua Jamil, analysts delved into the pressing question of which party is likely to form the next government, shedding light on the complex dynamics at play.
Express Tribune Chief Editor Naveed Hussain emphasized that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should be excluded from discussions due to its political identity being damaged, through concerted efforts. Hussain pointed out, "All efforts have been made to undermine the PTI as a political party, with its top leadership incarcerated and its electoral symbol 'bat' revoked, a vital identity in Pakistan's democracy."

He suggested redirecting focus onto the favourites, the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). He highlighted the restrictions on campaigning facing the PTI, including constraints on printing materials featuring its founding chairman Imran Khan’s image, potentially sidelining the party from the electoral race.
Appreciating the PTI’s resilience, Hussain acknowledged the party’s commitment despite pressures to boycott. He also cautioned PML-N's Nawaz Sharif about the strategic campaigning of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Punjab, emphasizing the potential game-changing impact of the latter’s intention to form a government with independent candidates, some of whom might be affiliated with the PTI.

Amir Ilyas Rana, Express News Islamabad Bureau Chief, raised suspicions about the PTI contemplating an election boycott post a planned rally by Imran Khan, citing the loss of the party symbol and potential legal issues as contributing factors.
