PIA offers 20% discount to Umrah pilgrims

Airline reduces one-way fare for Saudi resident and work visa holders by 30%

KARACHI:

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has reduced the one-way fare for Saudi residents and work visa holders by 30% as well as 20% for Umrah pilgrims.

The discount for Umrah pilgrims is applicable from April 7 to April 11.

The passengers travelling to Jeddah and Madina will be able to benefit from this discount.

The Umrah pilgrims heading for Riyadh and Dammam will also be able to avail this reduction.

The national carrier has lowered its economy class fare for Umrah pilgrims by Rs50,000.

The one-way economy class fare for Umrah pilgrims from the country’s south region including Karachi has been set at Rs95,400.

Similarly, the one-way economy class fare for Umrah pilgrims from the country’s north region including Lahore has been fixed at Rs103,600.

This is not the first time that the national carrier has announced a discount for Umrah pilgrims.

On November 3, 2003, the PIA had lowered the fares for Umrah pilgrims by Rs6,000.

The current announcement has brought happiness to several Pakistani Muslims as many of them wish to perform Umrah during the holy month of Ramazan.
