The Supreme Court has formed benches to address crucial cases over the upcoming two judicial weeks, including matters concerning the trial of civilians in military courts.
The apex court has assembled eleven regular benches along with two larger ones.
On April 8 and 9, the Supreme Court Registry in Islamabad will host two benches.
The first bench, under the stewardship of Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, includes Justice Musarrat Hilali and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan.
The second bench, led by Justice Yahya Afridi, comprises Jamal Khan Mandokhail and Justice Athar Minallah.
Likewise, a two-member bench helmed by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Ayesha Malik will preside over other significant cases at the Supreme Court Registry in Lahore.
In addition, a two-member bench consisting of Justice Muneeb Akhtar and Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi will adjudicate important cases at the Supreme Court Registry in Karachi.
Further, from April 15 to April 19, three benches have been constituted for the Supreme Court Registry in Islamabad.
The first bench, headed by Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Ayesha Malik, and Justice Shahid Waheed, will tackle crucial cases.
The second bench includes Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Irfan Saadat Khan, while the third bench is chaired by Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Musarrat Hilali, and Justice Irfan Saadat Khan.
Similarly, from April 15 to April 19 CJP Isa, Justice Aminuddin Khan, and Jamal Khan Mandokhail will oversee significant cases at the Supreme Court Registry in Lahore. Lastly, a six-member larger bench, presided over by Justice Aminuddin Khan, will address the trial cases in military courts on April 24th.
The Supreme Court had permitted the decisions of the accused during the preceding hearing and has requested a report on the verdicts of military courts. In addition, a larger bench under Justice Mansoor Ali Shah will also hear tax-related cases.
