Missing person produced in court after IG summoned

Zafar Abbas was missing from the area of Sumanabad and was recovered on the court orders

KARACHI:

The Sindh High Court disposed of the petition as the missing citizen Zafar Abbas was recovered.

Abbas was missing from the area of Sumanabad and was recovered on the court orders.

The government lawyer stated that the court had summoned the IG Sindh over the failure of the police to produce Abbas.

The IG did not appear but the missing citizen has appeared before the court, he said.

The petitioner's lawyer submitted that the recovery was done on the orders of the court.

The court expressed its anger on the police authorities for the unjustified disappearances of the citizens. The court reprimanded AIG Legal and remarked, "What is your performance? Why are you forcing the court to issue such an order?”

The court remarked that if someone has committed a crime, the person should be booked and arrested rather than made to disappear.

If the missing citizen had not been recovered, the court would have called the IG and asked him where the man disappeared? We are working according to law. Eyes and courts cannot be closed. One is the impression of the police and the other is the impression of the court. The function of the court is to deliver justice. We will continue to provide justice by following the law. If someone feels bad, let them feeling bad. We cannot close the courts.

The court disposed of the petition related to the recovery of citizen Zafar Abbas on his safe return.
