Following rumours that his kidnapping ordeal was fabricated, YouTuber 'YourFellowArab' (real name Addison Pierre Maalouf) has shared the first video from his time in captivity by a Haitian gang. The footage shows him imprisoned in a remote compound, surrounded by guard dogs.

Maalouf initially claimed he was kidnapped by the 400 Mawozo gang while attempting to interview their leader, Jimmy 'Barbecue' Cherizier. However, he was actually held by rival gang leader Lanmo Sanjou, who demanded a $600,000 ransom according to YouTuber Miles Routledge’s Twitter posts.

Maalouf's release without paying the ransom fueled doubts about his story.

His new YouTube video, which Maalouf insists is "a true story", shows him sitting comfortably beside Sanjou. Fans remain divided, with some calling him a scammer and others praising his courage.

This video serves as a trailer for a longer documentary Maalouf promises to release soon, detailing how he "befriended" Sanjou to gain his freedom.
