Govt to upgrade teacher training institutes

KARACHI:

Chief Secretary Syed Asif Hyder Shah, conducted a visit to Khatoon-e-Pakistan Government School for Girls in Karachi. During visit, the Chief Secretary inspected classes and interacted with the students.

Shehzad Roy, a renowned singer and social activist, representing Zindagi Trust which is a non-governmental organization that has adopted Khatoon-e-Pakistan Government School for Girls, provided a briefing to the Chief Secretary. He further highlighted collaborative effort between Sindh government and Zindagi Trust to run the school.

Shahzad Roy also informed him about the teaching license initiative, mentioning that Sindh is the first province in Pakistan where teaching licenses have been issued.

Shah commended Zindagi Trust for introducing new innovations in education at government school. He emphasized the importance of teaching as a noble profession, recalling his own experience of teaching Science and Mathematics as Commissioner in Hyderabad. He announced plans to upgrade 30 teaching training institutes across the province and initiate a Master's program for teacher trainers in collaboration with Oxford University Press (OUP).

During this official tour, Shah also inspected ongoing construction work at the school and visited science lab, reaffirming the commitment of Sindh government to support educational initiatives.
