KOTRI:

Three people including a child and a woman, were injured due to hailstones in the Manjhand and Bola Khan talukas of Jamshoro district. Two other people were injured due to collapse of a mud wall in a village.

According to reports the Jamshoro district received heavy rain and hailstones for half-an-hour.

Three individuals, including a child named Shazia and a woman named Hajran, suffered injuries to the head caused by hailstones. While the solar panels on the roofs of schools and mosques in different areas were also damaged.

The cars standing outside in different street areas also suffered minor damage. The people of the area shifted to their homes and safe places to avoid casualties during the hail.

Locals said they checked the hailstones and some weighed 76 to 100 grammes. A 100 grammes solid piece of ice falling at the speed gravity 9.8 m/s² can cause quite a lump on the skull, said Arshad Soomro an educationist and philanthropist well acquainted with the local terrain and weather.
