ISLAMABAD:

A sessions court in Islamabad granted interim bail on Tuesday to PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan, in a case lodged in response to a prayer gathering arranged in Ramazan for the former premier’s release.

The PTI held a special prayer gathering in Ramazan for Imran’s release in what the party terms as ‘bogus’ cases.

Additional Sessions Judge Nadia Ikram presided over the case and heard arguments presented by both sides. During the hearing, Aleema informed the court that they were praying for her brother’s release when a case was lodged against them at the City Police Station.

Talking to the media after her appearance in court, Aleema maintained that the cases lodged against the PTI founder are 'bogus' in nature and they will "all end one by one".

“Imran will not make any deal; he will face all the cases. Bushra Bibi will continue to be dragged into the cases till the decision of the Al-Qadir Trust case is announced,” she added.

“The iddat case is also absurd. The cypher case is not going well either and it will also be done away with. In all the cases, the judges are under pressure on how to proceed.”

Earlier, an anti-terrorism court of Lahore extended the interim bails of 34 accused including Aleema and Uzma Khan in Jinnah House attack case till May 21.

The court ordered the investigating officer to submit a complete investigation report at the next hearing.

The sisters of the PTI founder appeared before the court after the expiry of the interim bail.
