Local Councilor shot injured, brother killed in road rage
A man opened fire on the local councillor and his brothers for stopping him from driving motorcycle at high speed in a lane in the Sherpao Colony of Quaidabad pon Tuesday.
Councillor Sanam Tanoli and brothers Shehbaz Tanoli and Qaiser Tanoli, and a passerby were injured in the firing. Shehbaz later died during treatment at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC)Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Police have arrested the suspect Nisar Khan and seized the weapon used in the crime. Quaidabad police station SHO Zakir Ullah said that initial investigations suggest the altercation started over a dispute about speeding motorcycles, which escalated into an armed confrontation.
Police have arrested the suspect, Nisar, with the weapon, and are conducting raids to arrest another man and his son, who were involved in the incident.
The Quaidabad police were present at the scene and gathering further information till late in the night.
