RDA issues notices to two ‘illegal’ housing schemes

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Sunday issued notices to two ‘illegal’ housing schemes for carrying out development work and marketing without necessary approvals.

The notices were issued to the owners of Park View City Phase-II and Baku City by the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate.

According to the RDA spokesperson, these illegal housing schemes are selling plots fraudulently and the officials concerned have been directed to take against illegal advertisements and marketing in accordance with the law and get cases registered against the owners.

The authority has also warned the sponsors of illegal housing schemes to immediately stop the marketing of the unapproved and illegal housing schemes and contact the RDA to get NOC/approval of the scheme as per law, otherwise, strict legal action would be taken against the rules violators, he added.

He said that on the directions of RDA director-general Kinza Murtaza, the citizens have been advised not to invest in such illegal and unauthorised housing schemes. The public is also asked to check the status of the housing schemes from the RDA before investing or check the RDA's official website www.rda.gop.pk.

The spokesman further said that the owners and sponsors of illegal housing schemes are misleading the public through advertisements, the Planning Wing has requested the Cyber Crime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take legal action against misleading advertisements of illegal housing schemes.
