Two sisters accuse father of sexual abuse and torture

Victims' maternal uncle helped them escape to mother’s home in Karachi

Two sisters from Rohri town of Sukkur have submitted before a judge that they have been subjected to sexual abuse and torture for years in by their father and uncles.

The mother of the girls, named Asma and Hajra, had separated from their father and lived in Karachi. They have two more sisters, who live with their mother. The victims' maternal uncle had helped them escape the harrowing ordeal but he has instead been nominated in a kidnapping case filed by the victims' father.

The two sisters had been allegedly sexually abused by their father and three paternal uncles for five years. The girls, residents of Rohri, ran away from the clutches of their father and uncles and reached their mother in Karachi.

The girls cried hysterically while telling their harrowing story. They appealed to the superior judiciary and related institutions for justice.

The filed a case and sought protection and quashment of the fabricated case in the sessions court. The application was filed through Advocate Ghulam Mustafa Advocate. He told The Express Tribune that they have submitted before the court that the kidnapping case was entirely fabricated. The two sisters have come to their mother of their own free will.

The girls said that their father kept two sisters with him and the other two live with the mother. "I was 10-year old when my father started sexually assaulting me. Besides him, my three uncles also used to torture and abuse me," one girl recalled while choking on tears.

"They have been torturing and sexually assaulting me and my younger sister for five years," she added. "My uncles have filed a false FIR of our kidnapping against my maternal uncle in Rohri."

The girls have named their father Ghulam Rasool and uncles Mazhar Hussain, Noor Hussain and Ghulam Sarwar as accused in their case. They appealed to the higher judiciary and the government for protection and justice.
