Travis Kelce's NFL deal is "gum money" compared to girlfriend Taylor Swift’s status - Jimmy Kimmel

He pokes fun at Travis Kelce's NFL salary, saying it pales in comparison to Taylor Swift's billionaire status.

While Travis Kelce may have landed a jaw-dropping new NFL contract, Jimmy Kimmel isn't convinced it's enough to impress megastar girlfriend Taylor Swift.  During his April 30th episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live", the late-night host offered some humorous commentary on the situation.

"Congratulations to Travis Kelce," Kimmel quipped, referencing Kelce's two-year deal making him the league's highest-paid tight end. But, he followed with a jab: "Can you imagine being in a relationship where you make $34 million and you're still the broke boyfriend?"
 

Kimmel highlighted Taylor Swift's billionaire status, joking that Kelce's hefty contract is mere "gum money" in comparison.  Forbes estimated the singer's net worth at $1.1 billion in October 2023.

The comedian also took aim at Kelce's social media reaction to the contract news.  

Kimmel displayed a screenshot of Kelce's emotional video,  alongside fan comments calling him "baby girl" and "pookiest pookie".  "I'm not sure if he's a football player or a kitten," Kimmel remarked.

He concluded with congratulations to Swift on her record-breaking dominance of the Billboard Hot 100.  It's been noted that some of Swift's new album lyrics seem to reference her relationship with Kelce, using football-inspired wordplay.
