15 die in Punjab road crashes

The majority (75%) involved motorbikes

At least 15 people died, whereas 1,406 were injured in 1,280 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) across Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Out of these, 638 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 768 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue Medical Teams.

The majority (75%) involved motorbikes.

Furthermore, the analysis showed those 767 drivers, 60 underage drivers, 147 pedestrians, and 507 passengers were among the victims of road traffic crashes.

The statistics show that 283 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 300 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by Faisalabad 84 in with 99 victims and at third Multan with 71 RTCs and 75 victims.

The details further reveal that 1421 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 1127 males and 294 females, while the age group of the victims shows that 247 were under 18 years of age, 735 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 439 victims were reported above 40 years of age.

According to the data 1169 motorbikes, 72 rickshaws, 120 cars, 24 vans, 14 buses, 33 truck and 96 other types of vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
