LAHORE:

Federal Minister for Petroleum Musadik Masood Malik stated on Saturday that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formulated a plan aimed at providing job opportunities for young individuals upon completion of their degrees. Moreover, this initiative seeks to empower them to create employment opportunities for others as well.

"To implement this plan, we need some changes in the system and support from other countries in the form of investment," the minister said while addressing a news conference in Lahore.

He said imbalance in Pakistan’s exports and imports was also creating challenges, stressing the need to pay special attention to boosting the country's exports.

He emphasised that the federal government’s objective was to increase GDP and enhance productivity, adding that it was actively implementing economic reforms within the country and engaging with other nations to ensure sustainable development.

The minister stressed the need to end the atmosphere of polarisation in the society, emphasising the promotion of respect and morality. He expressed the government’s desire to cultivate a society where Islamic and family values are paramount, alongside addressing the issue of discrimination.

He stated that the recent talks with Saudi Arabia were aimed at the progress and development of Pakistan, and the arrival of their delegations was a part of these efforts.

"Pakistan has deep brotherly relations with Saudi Arabia," he said.

Musadik noted that during the first visit of the high-powered Saudi Arabian delegation to Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif briefed them on the direction in which Islamabad aimed to collaborate with Riyadh.

He mentioned that Pakistan had shared proposals with Saudi Arabia, suggesting avenues for investment and profit-sharing.
