LAHORE:

The swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has been re-scheduled for May 7 due to 'unavoidable' reasons, the general secretary of PPP Punjab confirmed on Sunday.

Chief Justice Lahore High Court Shahzad Khan will administer the oath to the PPP-designate governor at 6pm on Tuesday.

PPP’s Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, PPP’s Faisal Karim Kundi, and PML-N’s Jaffar Khan Mandokhel were appointed yesterday as governors of the K-P, Balochistan, and Punjab respectively by President Asif Ali Zardari.

The president appointed the governors on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and in accordance with Articles 48(1) and 101 of the Constitution.

The premier and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari earlier finalised the names of the governors in their meeting at the PM house.
