The much-hyped match between Youtuber-turned boxer Jake Paul and legend ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson that has been sanctioned as a pro heavyweight fight is scheduled for July 20th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Before the upcoming fight bookmakers have had their say on the matter rating the two competitors on the basis of several factors.
And 27-year-old Jake Paul (27) has reportedly emerged as the favorite over 57-year-old Mike Tyson, according to odds from five sportsbooks.
Age is a major factor in the odds, according to Johnny Avello, top oddsmaker for DraftKings. Paul is listed as the -180 favorite (bet $180 to win $100), while Tyson is the +135 underdog (win $135 for a $100 bet).
Recent Form
Tyson hasn't fought any professional boxing matches since 2005-2006 although he did fight an eight-round exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020 that ended in a draw. On the other hand Paul has been more active recently, compiling a 9-1 record with 6 KOs since turning pro in 2020.
Physical Comparison
Paul (6'1", 230 lbs) holds a size advantage over Tyson (5'10", 220 lbs) according to reports.
