John Oliver returned to Last Week Tonight with some sharp criticism for Fox News' coverage of college student protests against Israel’s war on Gaza.

He displayed a clip showing a Fox News reporter questioning a student at Columbia University about their reaction to approaching NYPD officers.

The student responded that they had a right to protest and the situation was “insane.”

In turn, the reporter stated, “Are you going to go with the police if they make arrests?” to which the student responded, “I guess so.”

Oliver criticised the reporter's line of questioning, commending the student for giving the “calmest possible answer” in response to what he called “the dumbest question ever asked on TV.”

The comedian then launched into a mock interview, sarcastically mimicking the reporter's tone, “If the guys with guns put you in handcuffs and drag you to jail, will you go with them?”

Further ridiculing Fox News, Oliver joked about viewers sending “thoughts and prayers” to anyone offended by the student's use of profanity.

He concluded with a mock obituary, “Paul John Roberts passed away in his home when his eyeballs, heart, and b******* exploded at the same time. He is survived by his wife and three adult children who no longer speak to him.”
