Fashion influencer Wisdom Kaye, long-awaited by internet users to grace the Met Gala, finally made his debut this year, turning heads in a bold red trench coat with burnt accents created by Robert Wun.
Born in Nigeria, Kaye moved to Houston, Texas, at the age of four.

He was discovered by IMG Models through their social media team and made his runway debut at Balmain for their S/S 2022 fashion show. Since then, he has collaborated with renowned brands such as Dior, Fendi, Ralph Lauren, Coach New York, and Revlon.
Kaye joined Tik Tok in January 2020 and quickly went viral for his take on the "Vogue Challenge"; by July 2020, he had reached 2 million followers. He further captured attention by creating high-fashion outfits inspired by Marvel Cinematic Universe characters.
In December 2021, Kaye was featured on Teen Vogue's 21 Under 21 list, and in 2023, he was named in Forbes’s 30 Under 30 list. As of 2024, he currently boasts 3.6 million followers on Instagram and 10.6 million followers on TikTok.
“It’s not out of the norm,” Kaye told Teen Vogue in 2021 about how TikTokers are challenging the fashion industry. “I feel like social media is becoming a big part of everyone’s life. It’s more like, ‘Hey, there you are.’ The next whatever.”
Kaye stands out among the select group of social media influencers extended an invitation to this year's Met Gala. This comes in the wake of criticism aimed at the Met Gala's host, Anna Wintour, in 2021 and 2022 for what some perceived as an excessive inclusion of influencers.
Kaye’s Videos like “Outfits based on the past present and future” or “Looks based MARVEL HEROS” showcase the fashion influencer’s range and versatility.
