Employee denied salary commits suicide

Accuses employer of 25 years of not paying 4-month dues

A 45-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison. It was reported that the deceased had been denied his salary for four months.

According to police officials, the deceased, Haris Iqbal, who was a resident of Rajawala, had been employed by Muazzam Ali in the yarn market for the past 25 years.

Reportedly, the employer had not paid his salary for four months.

It was reported that Haris had demanded his salary from the employer several times, but after repeated refusal, he became desperate and committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills.

Before committing suicide, Haris Iqbal, released a voice note in which he told his employer, "I have served you for 25 years but you have not paid me for four months, because of which I am very upset and taking this step.”

According to the police, the deceased had also invested his a relative’s money in the business of his employer.

Police officials said an investigation into the case was under way.
