Era of development in Balochistan has begun, says GOC Southern Command

CHAMAN: Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Asim Bajwa on Friday reiterated the military's commitment to facilitate Balochistan in "every possible way" and said the Army has worked tirelessly to achieve peace and prosperity in the country, Express News reported.

Disgruntled Baloch urged to join mainstream

Addressing a ceremony in Chaman, Gen Bajwa further said that the era of development in Balochistan has begun and that people in the province long for peace.

"Wherever we go, people ask for good educational institutions and schools," the commander said.

On October 17, Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan said that Quetta is re-emerging as one of the peaceful cities of the country due to the sacrifices rendered by security forces and courage shown by the citizens.

Lauding the army's assistance in providing modern training to the Balochistan police, the CM said that the provincial government had been conducting training courses for police under the command of the army which yielded positive results.
