Islamabad based fashionista, Palwasha Faisal decodes her style. Palwasha shares how her style evolved over the years and how to nail being classy and chic at the same time

Understanding your body is the key to looking good and a trait found amongst all impeccably dressed fashionistas. While people shy away from talking about their bodies, these brave souls explain how they work their anatomies to their advantage

How has your body type changed over the last five years?

I was always on the skinnier side, as I took after my mother. However, three pregnancies and the foodie in me obviously left its effect.

How would you describe your body type?

As of now the gains are visible and I’m on the heavier side. Although I must confess, that I don’t work on it at all. I have a good metabolism, but you need a consistent workout routine and not eat whatever comes your way like I do.

How has your style changed over the years?

Over the years, I’ve definitely started prioritising my comfort when it comes to my sartorial choices. As a young girl, my biggest inspiration when it comes to style was my mom who is quite the trendsetter and still is! Watching her made me naturally develop a knack for fashion. However, I’ve never followed anyone blindly. I have my own style and I like it that way! As Coco Chanel once said “I don’t do fashion. I am fashion.”

What’s your most troublesome area?

I don’t have a troublesome area as such. When I put on weight, I gain overall.

In your opinion what’s the biggest mistake one can make while dressing here?

Well, I don’t belong from the fashion police department. All I can say is that you shouldn’t follow the leader. You should have your own style that will make you stand out and be unique among all other people.

Which silhouette suits you the most?

My style just sort of reflects how I feel and it depends on my mood. Sometimes I want to be super casual and pull out a cute sweatshirt with flowy culottes, but then there are days when I want to be put together and go for a full glam look and pair it with my favourite accessories. I’m big on accessories and it’s no secret!

What do you carry better western or eastern?

To be honest, I enjoy a bit of both! My eastern outfits are pretty versatile and not extremely traditional. I usually go for solid colours and an easy, breezy look. Whereas, I love playing around with western outfits and enjoy experimenting. I don’t enjoy too much of a dolled up look it’s just not for me which is why I even prefer doing my own make-up.
