Katy Perry “and the whole world” are listening to Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department

Despite a rumoured past feud, the two have long since buried the hatchet.

Katy Perry has revealed that she has listened to Taylor Swift’s 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Perry enthusiastically confirmed, "Yes," when asked if she listened to "The Tortured Poets Department," adding, "And the whole world is too."

This public display of support comes just two months after Perry attended one of Swift's Eras Tour concerts in Australia.

Perry documented the experience on Instagram, sharing photos and videos, including one of her singing along to “Bad Blood,” which was rumoured to be written about her.

Perry also shared a friendly backstage selfie with Swift, captioning the post, “Got to see an old friend shine tonight ♥️✨.”

Though Perry and Swift became friends in 2009, rumours of tension swirled for years, particularly after they both dated musician John Mayer.

While Swift never explicitly confirmed the target of her song, “Bad Blood,” she did allude to a professional betrayal in a 2014 Rolling Stone interview, “Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.’ And it wasn’t even about a guy! It had to do with business.”

Swift continued, “She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I’m surprisingly non-confrontational — you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.”

However, it appears both singers are happy to move forward. By 2019, they had seemingly patched things up, with Perry even appearing in Swift's music video for “You Need to Calm Down.”

The “Fortnight” singer confirmed their camaraderie in an appearance on the UK’s Capital Breakfast radio show in 2019, “We saw each other at a party and walked up to each other and hugged it out and talked about things and then saw each other again at another party.

“She and I have been fine for a while, like, really on good terms. … We wanted to make sure that was solid between us before we ever, you know, made the public aware.”
