YouTube star-turned boxer Jake Paul is preparing for the biggest challenge of his career so far,  a professional boxing fight against legend “Iron” Mike Tyson.

In a recent interview at Formula One's Grand Prix of Miami, Paul didn't mince words about his intentions in the ring.

"I love Mike," Paul shared with USA Today. "I'm super respectful of him. It's an honor to be in the ring with him. But I have to end him. It's war. All is fair in love and war. I love the guy, but as soon as it turned into a pro fight, one of us has to die."

The fight, taking place  on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, will be streamed live on Netflix, marking the platform's first foray into live-streamed boxing events.

The highly anticipated bout will consist of eight 2-minute rounds, and neither fighter will wear headgear, intensifying the stakes as the result will become a permanent record for both.

With Paul's record at 9-1, his sole loss coming against Tommy Fury in 2023, boxing fans are torn on whether youth will trump experience.

Meanwhile, Tyson boasts a 50-6 record, still showing speed and power despite his age.

Concerns have been raised over Paul's safety, with boxing figures like Derek Chisora suggesting he wear headgear due to the risk of serious injury.
