Spotify has a brand new personality quiz designed to reveal your true K-Pop “persona.”

This new quiz dives into the heart of K-Pop's global phenomenon, a genre that's seen streams explode on Spotify by over 180 percent in the US since 2018.

Each member of a K-Pop band takes on a distinct public role, their "persona." The five-question quiz, located within the Spotify app, will determine whether fans can be a Main Visual, Main Vocal, Main Rapper, Main Dancer, or a Trainee on the rise.

True to K-Pop fan culture, the quiz generates a personalized photo card just like the ones fans collect, showcasing their designated K-Pop persona.

Users can then share their results and connect with fellow fans on social media.

The K-Pop persona quiz highlights the streaming giant’s attempts to capitalise on diverse fan bases outside of Swifties and other US-based artists. Recognizing the massive popularity of international music, Spotify is reaching out to devotees of BTS, NewJeans, and countless other K-Pop acts.

While the top streamed songs and albums on Spotify last year were largely dominated by US artists, international genres like K-Pop are making serious waves.

The Verge reports findings by Luminate, a leading entertainment data firm, revealing that K-Pop became the third most popular music language streamed in the US in 2023.

This global rise in K-Pop is mirrored by the streaming numbers on Spotify. Since 2018, K-Pop streams have skyrocketed by over 360 percent worldwide, establishing K-Pop’s significant global mark on music.

Spotify’s exclusive K-Pop persona quiz is available until May 10th.
