WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has touched down in Saudi Arabia ahead of his highly anticipated clash against Oleksandr Usyk, the IBF/WBA/WBO champ.
The fight, rescheduled from February, will take place on May 18th at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, crowning the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
Fury had pulled out of his February 2024 heavyweight championship fight with Oleksandr Usyk after suffering a cut during sparring.
Some fans were cautious, wondering if Fury might pull out again due to injury.
Usyk's promoter previously expressed concerns about a potential withdrawal from Fury, but the 35-year-old's arrival seems to quell those fears.
However, Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) appears to be in good shape.
He's noticeably slimmer and appears well-rested after the extra training time granted by the postponement.
With his reported weight loss and the financial penalty for withdrawal, many believe Fury is committed to stepping into the ring this time.
